John G. Cathcart was born in Perth, Australia, and raised on the mission
field. John is the son of Pastor William and Sylvia Cathcart, who were
international pioneering missionary-evangelists from Scotland to the
United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. John gave his
life to the Lord at six years of age and committed himself to the ministry
at seventeen. He moved to the United States at nineteen to train to be
an evangelist and pastor.
John graduated from the University of Houston as a minister and engineer,
a combination well suited to the evangelical and humanitarian work of
World Missionary Evangelism, Inc. John began leading WME in 1999.
John Cathcart has over fifty years of service to the Lord in missionary, evangelical, pastoral and
teaching ministry. John has held the senior ministry position for three congregations in Los
Angeles, Houston and Dallas. He has ministered in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe,
Australia, India, Russia, Central America and the Pacific Rim. He has functioned as a missionary,
radio and TV teacher, pastor, evangelist, Bible school teacher, magazine editor, grade school
administrator, handicapped-ministry chaplain, prison ministry board member and non-profit
John currently resides in Dallas, Texas, with Patricia Cathcart, his wife of forty years. John and
Patricia have three sons, a daughter, and six grandchildren.
