We want to inform WME listeners of the crisis but more importantly let you know how WME is responding to a missionary that has been serving the homeless street kids of Port-au-Prince for the last 10 years. Michael Brewer is reaching out to a sector of society that has been shunned and abandoned. These children had very little to lose except the little bit they found on the streets of Port-au-Prince. Other than missionary outreach to these children many are forced to beg, work the streets while searching through trash to stay alive. Since the earthquake those small resources are now gone. Because society labels them vermin they are shunned and what little relief is now available many of these children will never recieve. We are getting reports of children standing in lines waiting for water or food and being scolded and told to leave by the locals.

Our partner missionary has been providing protection and shelter to about 75 children and helping hundreds of others with whatever resources he has available. Of course this was prior to the current crisis in Haiti. He had 4 safe houses which have all been destroyed, several of his kids have perished and after 10 years of labor will have to rebuild his ministry capabilities in order to provide for the children under his care.
