John G. Cathcart President & CEO of World Missionary Evangelism
John G. Cathcart was born in Perth, Australia in 1930 and is the second son of Pastor William and Sylvia Cathcart who were pioneering missionaries from Scotland to Australia and South Africa where their apostolic ministry and organizational leadership resulted in hundreds of congregations.
John forebears were Covenanters who fought for religious freedom in Scotland and were prominent in the Irish Revival at the turn of the nineteenth century. John gave his life to the Lord at six years of age, committed to the ministry at seventeen, and came to the United States at nineteen to train to be an evangelist and pastor.
John is a minister and graduate engineer from the University of Houston, a combination that is well suited to the evangelical and humanitarian work of World Missionary Evangelism in over fifteen developing nations. In his service to the Lord John has held the senior position for three congregations in Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas. He has ministered in the United Kingdom, Australia and the Pacific Rim. John began leading WME in 1999 and resides in Dallas with Patricia, his wife of forty years. John and Patricia have three sons, a daughter, and six grandchildren.
John Cathcart shares the vision of John Douglas Sr. for the spiritual and the physical needs of man.
