Disaster Relief: Earthquake in The Philippines
Please Pray for Communities Impacted by Recent Earthquakes
On June 8, powerful earthquakes struck communities across the globe, leaving many families facing loss, uncertainty, and hardship.
In the Philippines, a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck shortly before 7:40 a.m. local time. The disaster claimed dozens of lives, injured many others, and caused widespread destruction. Buildings collapsed, power lines were damaged, and tsunami warnings were issued across several countries, forcing many residents to seek safety.
Later that day, a rare 6.1-magnitude earthquake occurred off the western coast of Cuba. The tremor was felt across parts of the Caribbean and even in Florida. While authorities have not reported major damage or casualties, the event served as a reminder of how quickly lives can be disrupted by natural disasters.
The largest of the earthquakes had also deeply impacted several of our churches and their families. During times of hardship, we are reminded of our calling to bear one another’s burdens and lift each other in prayer. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ as well as those who have lost loved ones, those recovering from injuries, and the many first responders and relief workers serving affected communities. May the Lord surround them with His peace, strengthen them through every challenge, and provide for their every need.
If you are called, a gift of any amount you can provide will go towards food, provisions, medical care, and any other needs our brethren in Christ may have during this time.
