Food For Hunger
Food For Hunger
Sadly, most of the world goes to bed at night hungry.
In developing nations across the globe 1.2 billion people live on less than $1.25 per day. Eighty percent of the world lives on less than $10 per day. With the price of food skyrocketing, these depressing numbers clearly spell out why, at this very moment, almost 870 million people do not have enough to eat in order to remain healthy.
WME’s Food For Hunger Program is simple: We feed those with nowhere to turn, those who can’t feed their families, those on the edge between life and death.
Much of the practical ministry of World Missionary Evangelism involves feeding the hungry, particularly starting with hungry children. This program is vital to saving lives.
Here is the bottom line: The change in your pocket might very well save a life today.
Giving to WME’s Food For Hunger Program does not require a long-term commitment. Donors simply share what they can, whenever they can. A one-time gift of $5 might feed a family for several days, while $50 could help provide several families with food for weeks. That is how little it costs to end hunger for at least one soul. Don’t you think that small amount is worth the investment?
God uses “regular” people to do His work on this earth. Perhaps all you have to give is a few loaves and fishes, but it is God who takes that gift and multiplies it for His glory.
Food For Hunger also serves as the foundation for other WME programs.
The Food For Hunger Program is often how WME begins working in an area, later leading to evangelistic outreach to the lost. And once these people are fed and healthy, we can steer them into other missions that provide them with the training and skills to move out of poverty. Only when we stop starvation can we begin the process of education that will provide the tools needed to escape from abject poverty, hunger and even death.
