In December 1972, a violent earthquake struck Nicaragua, leaving hundreds of thousands of people homeless and many children orphaned. WME and its supporters immediately responded by providing food, care and shelter to those in need.
Since then, World Missionary has been working to improve lives of children
and families in Nicaragua for almost 50 years.
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will He pay him again.” -Proverbs 19:17
The WME School facility in Nicaragua has provided a safe place for children to learn for decades. Our staff and teachers look after nearly 300 children. We rejoice in the outstanding contributions that this mission to the Masaya community has made over the years
But we must address some pressing needs of this vital outreach in Nicaragua:
- It is time to completely replace the roofing on some school buildings and make key repairs to the aging facility.
- A van used to transport teachers, children and WME church members needs repairs
- Our students would welcome additional school supplies and new desks.
- Staff and teachers are requesting teaching aids and computer equipment
